From Manus Province, Papua New Guinea, Betty is a writer that is passionate about protecting her cultural heritage, celebrating her island home and the beauty of being a Melanesian woman trying to maintain a balance between her culture and the modern world. She began writing as a therapeutic way to express her thoughts and has contributed an essay titled, “Harim Mi” to My Walk to Equality, an Anthology by Papua New Guinean Women.
