Norfolk Islander, Sue Pearson’s Pasifika family extend to Pitcairn & Tahiti. Sue has a BA Visual Arts. Her work is housed in collections throughout Aotearoa, the Pacific, USA, and Great Britain. Pearson’s work often enquires into and interoperates her Norfolk/Te Moana Nui a Hiwa heritage. Sue is a member of the “Ahu Sistas “collective formed around the preservation/revival of the tapa making practices of their tupuna wahine of Hitiaurevareva. Tapa is a prominent focus of her work. Pearson enjoys working collaboratively and across disciplines.
